What is BOTOX®?

BOTOX is an injectable cosmetic treatment that softens the look of lines and wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes. It’s FDA approved to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines — wrinkles that develop over the years as a result of repeated facial movements and expressions.

BOTOX is made of a toxin produced by a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum. It blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles in the treatment area, which stops the muscles from contracting.

What is the BOTOX procedure like?

Most BOTOX treatment sessions take only 10 minutes. Your aesthetician prepares your skin and performs three to five injections in each target area. If necessary, she applies ice or a topical numbing cream to help you remain comfortable during treatment.
